Basement waterproofing · Toronto & GTA

Basement waterproofing, sump pumps & foundation water protection.

Ground Guard Solutions provides exterior and interior waterproofing, sump-pump systems, weeping-tile work, foundation crack sealing and connected water-management solutions for GTA homes and properties. Tight-access hand excavation is available when machinery cannot reach the foundation safely or practically.

What we evaluate

Start with where the water is coming from and where it needs to go.

Basement water problems can have different causes. A useful waterproofing plan looks at the entry point, the foundation condition, the drainage path and the available access before deciding which combination of work makes sense.

Where Water Appears example

Where Water Appears

Visible seepage, damp areas, wall-to-floor leakage and water around foundation cracks can help narrow down where protection is needed.

Foundation Condition example

Foundation Condition

The wall surface, cracks, previous repairs and exterior conditions all affect whether the work is better approached from outside, inside or with a combined system.

Water Collection & Discharge example

Water Collection & Discharge

Waterproofing works best when collected water has a planned path through weeping tile, interior drainage, a sump basin or an appropriate discharge route.

Property Access example

Property Access

Side-yard width, fences, decks, landscaping and neighboring structures determine whether machine excavation is practical or whether controlled hand digging is the better fit.

Sump-pump systems

The sump pump is one part of the waterproofing path.

In an interior system, drainage can collect water and direct it into the sump basin. The pump then moves that collected water out of the basement. The discharge side still needs a sensible route so water is not simply returned toward the foundation.

Difficult access

Foundation access without forcing a machine into the wrong space.

Narrow side yards, fences, decks, nearby structures and established landscaping can make excavator access impractical. For suitable waterproofing work, Ground Guard can excavate carefully by hand where tighter control is required.

Workmanship protection

10-year workmanship warranty on qualifying waterproofing work.

Qualifying waterproofing work can be backed by a 10-year Ground Guard workmanship warranty. Written scope, eligibility, limitations and exclusions are provided with the applicable quote or contract; manufacturer warranties for pumps and materials remain separate.

Questions people ask

Common project questions

What is the difference between exterior and interior basement waterproofing?

Exterior waterproofing addresses the foundation from outside and can include excavation, wall preparation, waterproofing and drainage components. Interior waterproofing manages water from inside the basement using drainage and collection methods. The better approach depends on the source of the water, foundation condition and property access.

Can waterproofing work be done if an excavator cannot reach the foundation?

Yes. For suitable projects, Ground Guard can use hand excavation where narrow side yards, fences, decks, landscaping or nearby structures make machine access impractical.

How does a sump pump fit into basement waterproofing?

A sump pump can be one part of the overall water-management system. Interior drainage can collect water and direct it to the sump basin, while the pump moves that water out through an appropriate discharge route.

Does basement waterproofing include weeping tile?

It can. Weeping tile is a drainage component that can work with exterior or interior water-management systems to collect water and direct it toward an appropriate outlet or sump system.

Do you waterproof foundation cracks?

Ground Guard can provide localized foundation crack sealing and waterproofing within company capability. Cracks associated with significant structural movement may require assessment by an appropriate qualified professional.

Can I request a free evaluation for a basement water problem?

Yes. Tell Ground Guard what is happening, where the property is located and what access is like, and request a free evaluation so the next step can be discussed.
