Drainage & water control · Toronto & GTA

Weeping tile, yard drainage & sump-discharge solutions.

Ground Guard Solutions provides localized drainage and water-control work across the GTA, including weeping tile, downspout routing, yard drainage, catch basins, sump discharge and tight-access trenching by hand.

What we evaluate

Good drainage starts by identifying where water collects, where it travels and where it can be directed.

Pooling water, foundation moisture and poor runoff can come from different paths. The drainage plan should match the source, the grade around the property, the available outlet and the access needed to install the work.

Where Water Collects example

Where Water Collects

Low areas, saturated sections and repeated pooling help show where surface or subsurface water needs better control.

Roof Runoff example

Roof Runoff

Downspouts and concentrated roof runoff can add water beside the foundation if the discharge path is too short or poorly positioned.

Foundation Drainage example

Foundation Drainage

Weeping tile and related drainage components can help collect subsurface water before it remains against the foundation.

Outlet & Discharge Path example

Outlet & Discharge Path

A useful system needs somewhere appropriate for collected or pumped water to go instead of sending it back toward the structure.

Sump + drainage

The pump moves the water. The drainage plan decides where it goes.

A sump-pump system and exterior drainage can work together without being the same service. On the waterproofing side, interior drainage can collect water into a sump basin and the pump moves it out. On the drainage side, the discharge route helps carry that water away from vulnerable foundation areas.

Precision trenching

Drainage trenches through narrow property lines and difficult landscaping.

Drainage routes often need to pass beside fences, walkways, planting areas, decks or close property lines. Ground Guard can use controlled hand excavation for suitable trenching where a machine would be difficult or impractical to use.

Questions people ask

Common project questions

What drainage services does Ground Guard handle?

Suitable scopes can include weeping tile, downspout drainage, yard drainage, catch basins, sump discharge routing and localized grading or drainage improvements.

What does weeping tile do?

Weeping tile is a drainage component used to collect subsurface water around or below a foundation and direct it toward an appropriate outlet or sump system instead of leaving the water against the wall.

Can drainage trenches be dug by hand?

Yes. Hand trenching can be useful around landscaping, fences, walkways, decks and narrow property lines where a machine would be difficult or impractical to use.

How is sump discharge different from the sump pump itself?

The sump pump lifts and moves collected water out of the basement system. Discharge routing deals with where that water travels after pumping so it is directed away from vulnerable foundation areas.

Is drainage always separate from waterproofing?

No. A foundation water problem can involve waterproofing, weeping tile, sump pumping and exterior drainage working together, depending on the source of the water and the property conditions.

Can I request a free evaluation for a drainage problem?

Yes. Tell Ground Guard where water is collecting, the property location, any existing drains or sump discharge and what access is like, then request a free evaluation so the next step can be discussed.
